Lex Fridman offers podcasts which are conversations about science, technology, history, philosophy and the nature of intelligence, consciousness, love, and power. He grew up in Moscow in his early teen years along with his brother Gregory and later moved to the USA for college. He is a research scientist, professor, and social media personality who lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts with his wife and two children. He joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2015 as an Artificial Intelligence Researcher, a position he has held to date. His research area at MIT includes human-centered AI, particularly in the context of self-driving cars, human-robot collaboration, and machine learning. Lex is very intelligent and has no doubt been influenced by his father, Alexander Fridman who is a physicist. His style is unique among media interviewers. The podcasts are also unique in that they often last fir 2 or 3 hours. He always wears a black suit, black tie like a uniform, and at first he seems a bit cut and dried, quiet and understated. But gradually you begin to realize that he has great depth of intelligence and character which has propelled him to a popular status. He deftly interviews a wide variety of the most cutting-edge outstanding proponents from many different fields of knowledge. He is always well prepared, always asks the right questions and rarely interrupts.
