Reincarnation, also known as rebirth or transmigration, is the belief that each of us goes through a series of lifetimes for the purpose of spiritual growth and soul development. Throughout time people have asked if reincarnation is real and if so, who was I in a past life. Our curiousity is piqued by evidence of reincarnation, including love at first sight, intuition and déjà vu. The origin of reincarnation is not the most obvious, with so many religions and various cultures all claiming the concept, however, historians have traced the first recording of reincarnation being mentioned in the writings of Plato in the 5th century. Among the ancient Greeks, the Orphic mystery religion held that a preexistent soul survives bodily death and is later reincarnated in a human or other mammalian body, eventually receiving release from the cycle of birth and death and regaining its former pure state. Hinduism - Reincarnation or rebirth can be defined as getting born again in a living form after death. The word reincarnation literally means "entering the flesh again.". Punarjanma is the Sanskrit word for reincarnation. Punarjanma literally means rebirth. The first reference to reincarnation idea is at least 2600 years. It appears in the Upanishads, the sacred scriptures of Hinduism, At the beginning of the Christian era, reincarnation was one of the pillars of belief. Reincarnation has never officially been condoned by the Catholic Church or any of the major Protestant churches. But it was an almost universal belief among the many Gnostic and pagan sects that proliferated in the first three centuries of our era. Alice Bailey - ”Reincarnation is implicit in the manifested universe and is a basic and fundamental.” Brian Weiss - (Many Lives, Many Masters)...space and time are one in higher dimensions. Meaning that once you tap into a higher state of awareness, when you are one with everything, there is no such thing as past, present or future. They are all one, in one space, one time. That’s where the soul sometimes goes when we sleep. It’s how our imagination is triggered as we see and experience reminders of a past life. Here are some sure-fire ways to tap into who and what you once were. Carl Jung - “I could well imagine that I might have lived in former centuries and there encountered questions in was not yet able to answer; that I had to be born again because I had not fulfilled the task that was given to me." Dalai Lama XIV - ”We are born and reborn countless number of times, and it is possible that each being has been our parent at one time or another. Therefore, it is likely that all beings in this universe have familial connections.” Freidrich Nietzsche - “Live so that thou mayest desire to live again – that is thy duty – for in any case thou wilt live again!” Goethe - “I am certain that I have been here as I am now a thousand times before, and I hope to return a thousand times.” H.D. Thoreau - “Why should we be startled by death? Life is a constant putting off of the mortal coil – coat, cuticle, flesh and bones, all old clothes.” Henry Ford - “Genius is experience. Some seem to think that it is a gift or talent, but it is the fruit of long experience in many lives.” Herman Hesse - “He saw all these forms and faces in a thousand relationships… become newly born. Each one was mortal, a passionate, painful example of all that is transitory. Yet none of them died, they only changed, were always reborn, continually had a new face: only time stood between one face and another.” Isaac Bashevis Singer - "There is no death. How can there be death if everything is part of the Godhead? The soul never dies and the body is never really alive.” Julius Caesar - “...souls do not become extinct, but pass after death from one body to another…” Walt Whitman - “I know I am deathless…We have thus far exhausted trillions of winters and summers.... There are trillions ahead, and trillions ahead of them.”
